I've had a lot of friends ask me how I am saving so much money on my groceries, so instead of answering them each individually, I thought I'd start blogging about it and giving you some examples you can see/read. :)
In order to get started, you need to buy multiple papers every sunday. I buy a paper for each person in my family. I have a husband and 2 children, so including myself, that's 4 people, equalling 4 papers. A lot of times, I end up with at least 5 coupons per item in the Sunday paper because my husband will bring home the sales ads laying around at work.
Once you have a good stock pile going, you can start saving LOTS of money.
My favorite places to shop with coupons are Publix and Walgreens.
Publix has several BOGO (buy one, get one) items each week. If you have coupons for their BOGO items, you can use 2 coupons, so not only will you get one item free, but you will save 2 coupons ( whatever the amount is) off of your 2nd item. Publix doubles coupons up to .50, so if you have two .50 coupons for your BOGO items, you will save $2 on your 2nd item. Did that make sense?
Publix will stack coupons. They will take competitor coupons, so check out other stores printable coupons on their websites. Publix has coupon dispensers (blinkies) in front of certain items in their store that they will stack with manufacturer coupons or competitor coupons that you get from the paper or print off the internet.
Example for BOGO items::: A month or so ago, they had their Knorr Sides on sale for BOGO. I had several .50 off coupons that were all doubled to 1.00. I ended up getting 10 sides for $1.40.
Example for competitor coupons ::: They had their Propel water on sale for .50 a piece. I had a Kroger coupon that saved $1 on 2 so I got 2 for free. I only bought 2 because they only had 2 left on the shelf. *sad face* BUT HEY, they were FREE! :)
Walgreens has items in their ad each week that will give you register rewards back. I've received $35 back in register rewards by buying 5 items for $1.99 a piece (they are regularly $11.99 at Walgreens and $14.99 at Kroger!!). I used coupons on those items as well.
You can make multiple transactions and use your register rewards (which is used like money) from a previous purchase to pay for your next purchase so that you get your things for free. :)
I have photos that will SHOW you examples of things I've purchased but I don't have time to do that right now. I will post those before too long. Hopefully this wasn't confusing and it will at least get your stock pile started so you can use multiple coupons at a time to save more money on your items. It's gotten so bad around here that we are running out of room to store stuff. LOL
If you're confused and have questions, leave me a comment!

I probably would be a better coupon-er if I had more stores than just Walmart. But what few coupons I do collect, I try to use before they expire. :)
Grace, you can print out the closest stores fliers and take them to Walmart and they will price match all sales. :)
I've actually never couponed at Walmart. HA. I just think it's easier to go to the actual store then to stand there and tell them every thing they need to price match.
I got 3 Gain 80 count fabric softener for .36¢... 9 packs of McCormick Taco pack and MADE $3.87 overage... 9 Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets and MADE .27¢ overage.... I used my overage of $4.14 with a $2 off coupon and got a large bag of Puppy Chow for $2.55... at Walmart today. :)
*air five to wemmies*
I avoid Walmart at all costs. :0D
